This auction is for a Unibody MacBook (Late 2008) for parts or repair. Here are the specs:
- Mac OS X 10.10 (Clean Install)
- 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 2 GB)
- SATA 500 GB, 2.5″ Western Digital Hard Drive
- SATA Superdrive
It has a NewerTech NuPower 54 Watt replacement battery installed last year. They keyboard is missing the right Command (Apple) key. The case has scratches from normal use and some shiny spots from where stickers were placed. Everything works fine except for the screen, which has developed some corruption lines (see photo). They aren’t there all the time and will occasionally go away when pressure is applied the upper left or right corners of the display. It was diagnosed as having a bad cable by Onyx Consulting. I don’t have the time to do the repair, but for the person who wishes to mess with it, this can be a good project. HERE are the instructions on replacing the part. HERE is one of the many places where this part can be purchased.
Also included are two MagSafe power supplies for parts or repair. The first one is an Apple 85W Portable Power Adapter, model A1172. The cable has pulled away a bit from the brick and been repaired with some electrical tape. There must be a break in the wire, it turns on occasionally. The second one is an Apple 85W Portable Power Adapter, model A1290. It comes with the 3 prong extension cord and doesn’t work, reason unknown.
